MDNA.

For me, Madonna is one of those “she has her moments” singers. She also falls into the same category as Lady Gaga that I find the music much better if I don’t have to watch a video or a stage performance, but that’s a story for another day. Today’s story is about Madonna’s new album MDNA.

MDNA is definitely one of “those moments”. After not much liking Confessions on a Dance Floor and Hard Candy, I am happy to report that I love this new album.

It reminds me of American Life, which is my all-time favorite.

I’m not music expert, by Masterpiece and Falling Free seem almost like ballads to me – haunting, beautiful, and poetic. In other words, not Madonna’s usual fare. I know Masterpiece was written for her movie W.E. (which I will not see), and maybe that’s why it’s a little different but it is oh so very good. Falling Free is, without a doubt, the second best song on the album.

There aren’t really even songs that I don’t like, although I don’t particularly care for the parts that Nicki Minaj and MIA contributed on because those parts seem unneeded and out of place.

All in all, I love the album. It’s Madonna just the way I like her best.

Have you heard the album? What do you think of it?
